Kenneth Hagin’s legacy Hagin rose to prominence in the 1940s and 1950s as a traveling minister, preaching about healing through faith. Hagin had been hospitalized in a cardiac intensive care unit since Sunday, when he collapsed at home.

Hagin, who started preaching at age 17 and grew his congregation into an international ministry, died Friday morning at age 86. His dramatic healing is detailed in Roberts Liardon’s book God’s Generals. Hagin was a charismatic Preacher, a Teacher of the Word, a Prophet and an Author. He was also healed of his paralysis and never struggled with walking. On August 8, 1934, he says he was raised from his deathbed by a revelation of “faith in God’s Word” after reading Mark 11:23-24. He remained paralyzed after his conversion.
